| PSYCH, PROG, ACID-FOLK REISSUES ASHKAN- In
from the cold- 1969 debut of a heavy progressive rock masterpiece, similar to Leafhound, Human beast, T2 and early Spooky Tooth. Propelled by Bailey's hoarse growl and the bands penchant for frantic driving guitars, harsh vocals and pounding drums. Tapestry label, Limited to 1000 copies. Mint; 18.- AUM- Blues
vibes- Led by singer/multi-instrumentalist Wayne Ceballos, with drummer Larry Martin and bassist Ken Newell rounding out the trio, the group's initial reputation stemmed from their jam-oriented concerts. As one would expect from the title, the group's 1969 album found them working in a distinctively blues-vein. Reflecting the band's live act, this Richard Gotthrer-produced debut features a series of seven extended jams, (the shortest song clocking in at 4 minutes). Ceballos proved a decent singer, injecting considerable energy into his performances and the band really soars on many occasions. Truly interesting." Tapestry label, Limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- PAUL ADOLPHUS- Dawn
Wind- Australian loner folk recorded in Japan-Incredible rare and sought after mellow folk album with beautiful songs and harmonies, like a Japanese version of EXTRADITION! Shadoks- M-/M-; 45.- MICHAEL ANGELO- Here’s a limited reissue of 500 copies of the ultra rare
LP from 1977.
Near 4 figures as an original, here is a choice reissue with 1 bonus
track
added. Color glossy cover as the original. Dreamy, folkie
psychedelia...moments
of madness that are so hard to capture on recordings, yet the artist
accomplished that with this LP. The vinyl was recorded from the
artist's
personal archives and sounds very nice. Void Label; 22.- ART-
Supernatural fairy Tales- Classic but little known late-'60s Brit psych
from
the band that would later evolve into the much more famous progressive
act, Spooky Tooth. Great use of effects, this is vamped in echoes,
phasing, and vocoded vocals, and combines strong vocal melodies with
distorted rock riffing, psychedelic guitar solos, pounding bass, and
sweeping mellotron, all to great effect. This is quite a varied album,
there's a few softer, more lightweight songs (check out the Buffalo
Springfield cover on 'What's That Sound') with some rawer fuzzy, more
progressive rockers. Collectors of UK psychedelia/prog won't be
disappointed." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- AARDVARK-
Same- Stunning
forgotten gem of UK rock from 1970,
originally on Deram, this album stands out by virtue of having no
guitars except a bass. The keyboards are working overtime here, and
with the inclusion of some trippy electronic effects. Highlights
include the marvelously monickered 'Once Upon A Hill/Put That In Your
Pipe And Smoke It' which is a monster of a track spread over ten
minutes and dominated by keyboard mayhem, this is a highly exceptional
reissue." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- BALLETTO
DI BRONZO
- Sirio 2222 (profonda nero)-Legendary debut
album (and impossible to find as an original) featuring the famed track
“Missione sirio 2222” regarded by many as one of
the best tracks ever in the
Italian prog field. This is a limited and unplayed reissue.Profondo

Handful- What a cover this is, and what an album...-
Has been compared to Dragonfly, Brigade, Butterfingers.. This is crude
heavy
psych with an acid edge. As an original it's near impossible to find.

a completely sold out Shadocks exact reissue. hardly ever shows up

Case history- Coyne released his first LP in
1972, Case History,
on John Peel's Dandelion label. With just a guitar, and a few of
Siren's members here and there, Kevin stuns the listener with stories
of love, anger, independence, and the psychiatric patients he had begun
to work with, after dropping out of art school. After Case
History,
Kevin was phoned by Richard Branson, the soon to be multimillionaire
media mogul. Richard was then starting Virgin Records, and was seeking
acts. Kevin was part of the first signings to the label that included
Mike Oldfield and Gong." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000
copies. 18.- CAPTAIN
BEYOND-
Same- Originally released in 1970.
"This is one of the
greatest overlooked early 1970s hard rock masterpieces. From beginning
to end (with only one hitch, discussed below), this is a consummate
performance. There is a power and consistency hardly ever found on
debut albums. What's more, the production is remarkably sophisticated
for its time, particularly in terms of the guitar work, which is
chiefly reminiscent of Jimmy Page, and in some respects an advance over
his work, but also thanks to richly-layered vocal harmonies of the sort
that normally don't work in hard rock." Tapestry label, limited
edition of 1000 copies. 18.- THE CONTENTS ARE- Through
You, USA 1967 450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180 gram
pressing / insert- The Contents Are: Dave Neumann - guitar, vocals,
Paul Staack - drums, vocals, Larry Smith - bass, vocals and Craig Hute
- lead guitar, vocals from Iowa. The Contents Are was one of many sixties bands from the Quad City’s fertile garage music scene. With labels/studios like Fredlo and IGL, it was a very healthy regional area for bands with an unusually high per capita for record releases. Up until the recent discovery of an original copy a couple years ago, it was only rumored to exist and remained an enigma with hardcore record collectors. In most cases, the Contents Are were only known by astute collectors for their two excellent 45 releases (non-LP). Well the mystery is over, and here’s your chance to hear one of the rarest & greatest garage records ever recorded. Here’s the story about the record: Four high school seniors from Iowa decide to release an album of all original tunes, and was exclusively sold at their live shows. Originally released on the Rok label (a subsidiary of the already obscure Fredlo label) in 1967 with only 100 copies pressed. These guys were not your typical garage band – talented players, professional grade vocalists and no cover songs!!! Their music is a nice blend of garage rock with hints of hipster folk and early psychedelic influences. As good if not better as other similar top shelf rarities like Mystery Meat and the Bachs, but no major quantity find making original copies of the Contents Are ten times rarer. Get it or miss it! SEALED; 44.- CAMEL-
Same- Camel's debut album is probably one of their
best.
It was a quite rough and unpolished product, but it still featured the
two first classic Camel tracks with the beautiful 'Mystic Queen' and
the catchy 'Never Let Go.' Both tracks demonstrated the group's ability
to write very strong vocal-melodies combined with lengthy and tasty
instrumental-passages. 'Never Let Go' also featured one of the few
examples recorded of a mellotron solo. 'Separation' and the opener
'Slow Yourself Down' are both harder rock tracks where the latter one
is the most complex and progressive, featuring some excellent solos
from Latimer and Bardens." Tapestry label, limited edition of
1000 copies. Originally issued in 1973. 18.- DARK-
Round the edges- Lovely reissue of UK’s
holy grail progressive album, recently listed on Ebay for 7500$ (!).
Only a few
originals are known to exist so this makes for a clever alternative. 7th
Akarma release, issued in bulky textured gatefold cover, pressed on
Marble grey
coloured vinyl and including a 12 pages insert with lots of info and
pictures.
A great set! M-/M-; 35.- DRUIDS
OF STONEHENGE- Creation- 1968 fabulous caper,
sounding like early Rolling
Stones meets early Grateful Dead, with incredible guitar breaks and a
frenzied lead vocalist. Contains the beautiful harpsichord laced 'Six
Feet Down,' an amazing version of 'Signed DC,' the best song ever
written about 'Speed' and a magical 'I Put a Spell On You.' Precious
psych American explorations and textures." 180 gram virgin vinyl.
Limited edition of 1000 copies.;
Tapestry Label; 18.- DR.
STRANGELY STRANGE- Heavy
petting- Dr. Strangely
Strange were an experimental Irish
folk group formed in Dublin in 1967 by Tim Booth (vocals and guitar)
and Ivan Pawle (bass and keyboards). Soon they teamed with
multi-instrumentalist Tim Goulding (vocals and keyboards), an aspiring
painter, and began living and rehearsing in a house owned by Goulding's
girlfriend, Orphan Annie, which its tenants nicknamed 'The Orphanage.'
This follow-up album is a little more electric than their 1st, but
almost equally eccentric in the best possible way. Songs that take you
to places no one else goes (don't you love the '70s?). Completely
wonderful." Tapestry label. Limited edition of 1000 copies.
Elaborate die-cut fold-out jacket, as originally issued ; 20.- DAWNWIND-
Looking back on the future- Jon
Harflett and John
Perkins began playing together in 1967, but their sole album, the
beautifully
melodic and intimate "Looking Back On The Future", didn't appear
until 1975. Though critically praised, it was only issued as a private
pressing
and was thus condemned to obscurity until its legend began to grow
through collectors.
This is a vintage reissue, first release on “Ear”
and limited to 300 copies
only! Has a sticker removal on top right corner, otherwise very nice
M-/M-; 45.- THE
DEVIL’S ANVIL-
Hard rock from the Middle-East- EAST
OF EDEN-
Mercator projected- A milestone in the birth of
'progressive/art' rock, East of Eden's debut album, Mercator
Projected has been cited by Mojo
magazine as 'a ...masterpiece.' Released originally in 1969, the album
established East of Eden (formed in Brighton by violinist and
multi-instrumentalist Dave Arbus) as a major act, particularly in
France, where the band had several top ten singles and major album
success. An imaginative fusion of jazz, psychedelia and world music, Mercator
Projected has been remastered from the original master
tapes." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- LA FACHADA DE PIEDRA- Same- Here is one the the best and longest albums on
the
Shadoks Label. Side A has 8 tracks studio (25 minutes) and side B 7
tracks live
(28 minutes). This band from Guadalajara, Mexico never did a complete
album
(only 7 inches and an Comp. on Orfeon). La Fachada de Piedra (The Stone
Facade)
is a 6 piece band with 2 guitarists. The Cream influenced bluesy
Underground
music blows you away. All English vocals, original songs, effects,
screaming
guitars (like Eric Clapton & Peter Green in best action) with
Hendrix style
drugout Psychedelic. MINT; 40.- FAIRPORT CONVENTION- What we did on our holidays- Their second album
captures Fairport Convention
poised between the more embryonic, American-influenced rock of their
debut and the more pronounced British folk-rock that would follow.
Newly arrived vocalist Sandy Denny contributes her haunting songs and
indelibly husky voice, Ian (later Iain) Matthews lofts his angelic
tenor into the mix, stacking solid covers of Joni Mitchell and Bob
Dylan beside traditional English songs and stirring originals from
Denny, Matthews, Richard Thompson, and Ashley Hutchings. As such, Holidays
works both on its own terms and as a position paper on Fairport's
emerging ambition to find a distinctive accent for their alternately
hearty, witty, and somber music." Originally released 1969. Tapestry
label. Limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- MARK FRY-
Dreaming with Alice- Probably the first ever reissue of this magical
lost Acid Folk Gemm. 1st Solar circus in Yellow Textured flimsy
gatefold cover. Numbered on the inside. (This is number 126 out of 300
only) A real treat and hard to find with this cover! Perhaps my
favourite English psych folk LP of all times. Solar Circus 001-
EX/EX 65.- FAMILY- Entertainment- This album begins with a stalwart of the live
show
and is the most played of any Family song on the radio, 'Weaver's
Answer.' John Whitney and Roger Chapman were writing separately as well
as Rik Gretch. What results is much like a Grateful Dead studio album:
songs that did not really sound great there but were transformed by
public performance. 'Second Generation Woman' sounds like any other
band except Family, and of the slower songs, 'How-Hi-The-Li' is a must.
The lack of live albums by this band means that one needs to have the
studio albums to capture the joys of their sound. Well worth having in
your collection even if it is only for 'Weaver's Answer.'"
Limited edition of 1000 copies. The
last ever reissue to come out on the Tapestry label! ; 18.- FAMILY- Music in a doll's house- This is the first Family album, with their
unique
and already mature style. Different form their more psych and prog
counterparts, Family mixed rock with folk, jazz and blues. Roger
Chapman's voice stands out in a crowd on a great list of songs for a
music that's still fresh, attractive, original. One of the best debut
albums of the '60s." 180 gram virgin vinyl. Limited edition of 1000
copies ;Tapestry Label; 18.-
GANDALF-
Limited
edition UK picture disc. Black
and white pic of the group on flipside. GRANNIE-
Still an unsolved mystery to most collectors. The music is progressive
rock with a good dose of UK underground. Beautiful Les Paul heavy sound
all over, Hammond, driven beats and male vocals. To me this one is as
good as DARK and LEAF HOUND, the music goes in the same direction. A
killer album from begin to end. Shadoks- SEALED-
45.- CAROL GRIMES &
DELIVERY-
Fools meeting- Although
recordings were made through independent
mixes, a technique that did not ably translate the band's powerful live
atmosphere, the music on this album does offer great example of
progressive blues and rock. The gatefold sleeve design was by Grimes'
then-husband, and noted psychedelic artist, Larry Smart. The LP was
released in November 1969. In the meantime, various members of the band
jammed or played alongside various other sessions such as Free (Steve
Miller) and Centipede (Roy Babbington). Fools Meeting
is a sort of legendary album and a must-have." Tapestry label, limited
edition of 1000 copies. Gatefold sleeve. 18.- GALLIARD-
Strange pleasure- Galliard
were formed in Birmingham, in the summer of
1968. They were, in essence, a much-augmented later manifestation of
Craig. Galliard set out as an extremely eclectic band on Strange
Pleasure.
They juxtapose a woodwind/horn section slyly with rural compositions,
creating a pastoral, even medieval atmosphere, starkly contrasting
nervously urban passages, although they borrow from Art Nova's 'Wrapped
Her In Ribbons' and give the credit to Geoff Brown. An interesting
effort." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- GILLES, GILLES &
FRIPP- The cheerful
insanity..- This strange little record, reputed to have sold
fewer than 500 copies during its initial run, was the first and only LP
released by proto-King Crimson trio Giles, Giles & Fripp,
formed
when the Giles brothers placed an ad for a singing organist and got a
non-singing guitarist instead. The group is technically a power trio,
but the music they play hardly has much connection to progressive rock,
much less rock rock. This very intriguing cult-album consists largely
of catchy lite-pop with all manner of strings, choirs, and occasional
surprising guitar licks. Original and extremely appealing!" Tapestry
label. Limited edition of 1000 copies; 18.- HEAD MACHINE-
Orgasm- Now a rare
collector's item in its original version,
this album appears to have been recorded by The Gods under pseudonym
(Ken Hensley, later w. Toe Fat, Uriah Heep) . Musically veering towards
heavy rock, most of its track are indeed powered by driving guitar
work, although there are also softer songs inside. The title track and
'Climax' are true gems. And of course, all the lyrics deal with sex as
a topic. Hot and valuable." Tapestry label, limited edition of
1000 copies 18.- HE6-
Same- Great mix of 60's beat, psychedelic and
funky rhythm based brass rock. Both albums, housed in quality sleeves
comes
packed in a hard carton Boxset, including a 24 page booklet, a 6
postcard set,
band logo sticker & two big sized posters. Lim. to 1000 copies
and long
sold out! MINT 60.- or SEALED 70.- IMPALA SYNDROME-
Having moved from Venezuela and having become
Impala
Syndrome from Los Impalas, the sound this band produces here is often
compared to Cream's, both vocally and instrumentally, with some
occasional muscular guitar/bass guitar/drum kit playing and some
excellent riffs. In fact, 'For a Small Fee' sounds like a Cream cover.
In general, it's fervent hippie jam rock-blues. The songs are all
compact and commercially oriented, not much in the way of an acid rock
edge and definitely more lightweight flower power sounding than Cream.
Male vocals are in English, with excellent sound quality and a very
sought after release." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000
copies. Originally issued in 1969. 18.-
INSTANT
ORANGE
- Same, USA 1973-
450 numbered / glossy heavy GATEFOLD sleeve / 180 gram pressing / insert-
Besides home to the Hells Angels,
farmers and citrus grooves, San Bernardino, California was also
where Instant Orange lived and released their first
single in
1968. The band forged ahead and released another single
(1973), album
(1973) and two ten inch eps (1974 & 1975). All of their
releases were small
pressings of 100 copies and to this day, Instant Orange remains
virtually
unknown. Their homemade sound is a refreshing reflection of
their west
coast folk-rock influences that were so prevalent during
the sixties
and early seventies. All original tracks with inspiration from
bands like
the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Love, Sandy Bull and others. Songs full
of
electric and acoustic guitars with nice doses of
McGuinnesque 12
string riffing as well as many unsuspecting surprises
(antiquated
electronic effects, rambling rural explorations, long
jams, experimental moves, stoner banter and other
weirdness between
songs, caveman fuzz, etc). A solid listen with enough original
imagination
to keep it interesting without the band creating an identity
crisis by trying
too hard to be something else than themselves. Here it all on this
limited
double album, but grab it before it becomes elusive like some
of San
Bernardino's motorcycle riding inhabitants. LOS JAIVAS- El Volantin, CHILE 1971This first ever album by Chilean band LOS JAIVAS had no name but it always was called El Volantin. It was only release in Chile in a small limited run for a real private label. That's why someone could call it the rarest album from Chile, way rarer than Aguarturbia, Kissing Spell and Embrujo. Perhaps not as much sought after but rare as gold-dust. The music is real trippy and you can compare it close with the Lula Cortez - Paêbirú album. Long passages of trippy sounds waving into fuzz guitar songs. There is a more acoustic side of the album and the second side is all electric. Really amazing music for everybody into acid trips into the wild South American wilderness. I am sure that this album was banned after 1973 when the Chile government became nasty to "musician from another planet"! OOP MINT; 45.- JELLY

Level 6 1/2 -Here’s a beautiful reissue by void records of
this fantastic monster psych album out of Illinois. A
psychedelic concept masterpiece reportedly released in just 180 copies
at the time and of course near impossible to find in its original form

ST. EXIT-
Drive it- Lincoln St. Exit were New Mexico's
lead garage/psych
band of the late '60s/early '70s, one of the few Indian Native American
groups. Drive It was their first full length LP.
Ranging from
the psych-heavy blues ridden 'Dirty Mother Blues' to the easy going
'Soulful Drifter,' in between there are songs reflecting the times, the
Vietnam era vibe hanging over the U.S. Guitarists Mike Martin &
R.C. Gariss are backed up by the rhythm section of Mac Suazo (bass)
& Lee Herres (drums). This band opened for many a headliner
coming
through the Southwest, and provided great performances throughout.
Outstanding!" Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.-
LOVE- False start- Originally
issued in 1970. "One of the very few
major rock groups to then feature a racially mixed lineup, Love was led
by productive singer-songwriter Arthur Lee. After cutting three albums,
the band fell apart. The original lineup's albums are very very good,
including this one where Lee had the good luck to jive Jimi Hendrix
into making a guest appearance ('The Everlasting First'). Lead
guitarist Rowles puts across a Hendrix imitation that completely fooled
me on 'Slick Dick' and 'Ride That Vibration.' The rest of the record is
a lark, with Lee veering between funky sludge rock (the live cut 'Stand
Out') and flaky soul harmonies ('Keep On Shining')." Tapestry label,

MACK
SIGIS PORTER-
Most Italian rare
records have been reissued already, right? Well, allegedly. But this
one just
slipped underneath the producers door- largely because it isn't really
an
Italian album. It sounds like one, great songs with a progressive
touch, lovely
fuzz guitar and organ, but Mack Sigis Porter is from- wait for it-
Africa!
Released only as a demo pressing in 1972 on the famous RiFi label this
album,
unsurprisingly (why else would Shadoks be issuing it?) did not make it.
With a
beautiful gatefold die cut gimmick cover it was produced on a very high
budget,
but still to no avail Mack's English lyrics are about World Peace and
unpleasant things we are doing to our environment. Perhaps it was just
too
political for RiFi, but the music still came out brilliantly- a killer

Masterpiece- In February
1970, the Master's finally issued their long delayed second LP, Masterpiece.
It's an interesting album that clearly shows the band developing a much
broader range. It includes the single tracks 'Linda Linda,' '5.10 Man,'
'A Dog, A Siren & Memories,' and 'How I Love You.' Side one of
the
LP shows them beginning to come to grips with the current fad for
concept albums, by linking the songs with a short guitar-and-string
arrangement, crossfaded between tracks. The title track, a live
recording, provides a vivid aural snapshot of a Master's live show ca.
1968, complete with the deafening screams of fans. Precious!" Tapestry

APPRENTICES-
A toast to panama red- Originally

Apprentices are bona-fide Australian rock legends. As Stan Rofe said,
the Master's Apprentices were Australia's Rolling Stones. They left an
indelible mark on Australian music, and along with the Easybeats and
the Twilights, they were one of the 'could-have-been' bands, who tried
valiantly to break into the British and international charts. Like both
those bands they were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempts, but
one of the later members of the band, Glenn Wheatley, learned valuable
lessons from their mistakes and has played a major role in the music
industry and the media over the last 30 years." Tapestry label,

Same, UK 1972 -450 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram pressingLocated in St. Albans, 20 minutes away from London, Motiffe recorded this album in a home situation with no overdubs. A full blown progressive band with songs, techniques which reminds a lot of bands such as IF, Gracious and Gravy Train. Great keyboards, fuzz guitar which turns the music in something Mothers of Invention like plus flute & sax, real complex songs and very little vocal. These guys can play for sure and they are instrumentalists . Originally released in 1972 on the famous Deroy label. Supposedly only 2 known copies of this baby exist. Shadoks- 44.- MOURNING PHASE-
Same, UK 1971This demo-LP was discovered in 1992 and later sold for a 4-figure sum to a “collector”. It appeared to be a test pressing, dated 1971. Lyrically interesting, the densely layered acoustic/electric music seems merely to serve as a vehicle for the love/hate relationship of, speculatively, the male and female vocalists. Cynical, misanthropic, (with and occasional cello). It rates highly and rightly so, because the songs are well written, well performed, and goes from somewhat dreamy through to aggressive. Recorded at Eden studios. You can compare the music very close to Mellow Candle, one of the best underground folk albums there is, and this is as good. Shadoks; 44.- MUSHROOM-

their songs. Musically they blended early progressive rock with
elements of Eastern music, and their debut In Blissful Companyremains
a very representative example of their sound. Much like the

the album with good home equipment with no overdubs. The original album
(the black album as they called it) was only pressed 300 times and

everything right, something you would expect from a band located in New
Orleans. Southern spirit and the tough guys don't dance thing, they
play music instead. Shadoks SEALED; 44.- LA
REVOLUCION DE EMILIANO ZAPATA- Finally
available on vinyl this is the ace second album from 1972 by the little
known
Mexican band. Superb late sixties trippy psychedelia with male/female
vocals
and some killer lead guitar. Beautiful Gatefold sleeve with wonderful
psych
cover art. 26.- SKIP
BIFFERTY-
Same- Originally issued in
1967. "Skip Bifferty might not
exactly have been the Rolling Stones but they could have given the Idle
Race or the Creation a run for their money. 'Guru' is the trippiest
number here, a tabla-laden piece of minimalist psychedelia that's all
voices chanting and pounding percussion, and it works. In all, it's
cheerful psychedelia with a hard edge and some great virtuoso playing,
pleasingly heavy guitar, soaring choruses, and eerie psych-pop lyrics
evoking variant states of mind, somewhat akin to Pink Floyd's early
singles laced with the kind of heavy edge that the Creation brought to
the genre." Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- SHARK MOVE-
Chede Chokra's, Indonesia 1970- 450 numbered / heavy sleeve / 180 gram
pressing / insert- Shark Move started playing in Bandung, Indonesia in
1970 and was founded by Benny Soebardja who play lead guitar and sings.
Shark Move is one of the Indonesian rock pioneers who combined rock
music with traditional harmonies and progressive sounds. Some songs on
this LP using English lyrics, while other bands at that time where
still playing sweet music, this is really an experimental recording.
Unfortunately at the end of 1970 the keyboard player passed away so
Benny decided not to continue with his band and formed a new on named
Giant Step. A very complex prog album which is as strong as many good
UK albums of the same period but it has this little extra which makes
this album unique and great. Shadoks SEALED; 45.- STONE
CIRCUS-
Same- Originally issued in 1969. "An
obscure bit of
psychedelic pop issued briefly at the end of the '60s, this one has a
tighter groove and hipper sound than most of its contemporaries! The
Stone Circus may have only left this one album behind in their career,
but it's a plenty great one, and shows the group to be extremely
focused and polished, with a highly rhythmic, and even a bit funky
sound! Already known as The Funky Farm, the music they do here is a
tight blend of basslines, snapping drums, organ, and guitar with bits
of vibes thrown into the mix at a few especially great points in the
set. Tracks are mostly originals -- done with a bit of fuzz at times --
with clever lyrics and titles." Tapestry label, limited edition
of 1000 copies. 18.- STRAWBS-
Same- Strawbs started in the late '60s as an
acoustic
folk-band. The album they initially put together was a pop masterpiece
-- the label, however, thought they'd signed progressive folkies rather
than pop hopefuls, and, despite having spent large wedges of cash
already, Cousins and co. were asked to return to the studio to replace
some of the more pop-oriented material with more appropriate folk-based
material, which they did. The second sessions also produced Cousins'
epic The Battle,
a sign of things to come. The album as
released received critical acclaim, though not commercial success."
Tapestry label, limited edition of 1000 copies, gatefold sleeve. 18.- BOB
SMITH- The
Visit was recorded in 1970 in L.A. and it
redefined the existing borders of the psychedelic movement, resulting
in obscure and complex songs with mindblowing instrumentation and
depth. Not really a solo album at all, as Smith is backed by eight very
capable musicians. Much of the music is instrumental, achieving a
mystical and 'psychedelic' atmosphere, although there are a few more
mainstream tracks and some nice bluesy guitar work in places. The
original pressing (especially with the amazing psychedelic poster) has
skyrocketed in value in recent years. Another significant collectable
from the California rock scene that will interest many." Tapestry
Label, limited edition of 1000 copies, gatefold sleeve, with
poster insert.
30.- SAVAGE
RESURRECTION-
The Savage
Resurrection, a West Coast psychedelic
band in the late 1960s, left this album only, full of Hendrix
obsession. The members were from two West Coast local groups, Button
Willow and Whatever's Right. And this is one of the greatest (typical)
heavy psych (and garage) sounds ever recorded in the 1960s. Based on
the R&B manner, brilliant twin guitar sounds spark, while
experimental echoes and sound effects make for sound, amazing
acid-rock." 180 gram virgin vinyl. Limited to 1000 copies. 18.-

Hard
Psych. Rarer than Spectrum. A real beauty. Lots of covers but soo good.
Beside
Modulo & Spectrum the hottest item from Brazil. The guitar

acid
Psych version of "Crossroads", "Can´t Find My Way Home" or
"Whithering Tree", this one is for you. Last copy available! SEALED;

tiny demo
pressing in 1972, France. This is great acid folk with poetry lyrics,
loner vibes, Psychedelic
guitars &well crafted songs. 4 guys hanging out night by night
to create
their first album in a basement studio following their one and only
ambition. This
album is very special and became instantly one of the real musical
surprises for
us. It beats most UK albums of the same style. They must have had really happy times in those days, very creative times full of aspiration. Comes highly recommended. Forget locating an original! SEALED MINT; 40.- TERJE JESPER og JOACHIM-
Same, DENMARK 1970 -450 numbered / glossy heavy sleeve / 180
gram pressing / insert- Terje Bandholdt on drums, Jesper Schmidt on
guitar and Joachim Ussing on bass recorded this album in 1970 for
famous Spectator Records in Denmark (Moses / Blues Addicts / Days). For the first time reissued in original cover plus insert with many photos and band-story, this amazing heavy psych album beats most releases from Denmark, in quality and rarity. Massive guitar action all over, great heavy vocals and pumping rhythms lifts this album out of there grooves. Beside Moses the best heavy psych album from Northern Europe. SEALED SHADOKS ; 44.- UGANDA-
Akira Ishikawa, the drummer/composer of the
project UGANDA went to Africa to study music from the African Masia
tribe...and
smoking grass. Back in his homeland of Japan he recorded this album in
quadraphonic sound together with Kimio Mitzutani and assorted other
freaks.
Kimio Mizutani, who played a true outstanding distorted wah-wah fest,
is backed
by tribal African rhythm here. Along with "Ceremony" this is highly
desirable Japanese heavy psych. Still completely unknown, this album,
with its
berzerk fuzz guitar, beats most other Japanese psychedelic rarities.

Lazy Bones- ZAMBIA Afro Psych with lots of Fuzz Guitar!- If bands from
Nigeria such as Blo and Ofege and bands from Zambia such as Rikki
Ililonga and Chrissy Zebby are all traveling on the psychedelic highway
at 100 mph, the Witch overtakes them with 120. On the cover we can
read: if you're feeling depressed, low, disturbed, out-of-sorts, sad,
frustrated or widely demented, then folks, we suggest you seek out a
quiet place, indulge in some soothing meditation and cut away that
headache by listening to this inspirational album. Shadoks SEALED;
75.- WEB-
Theraposa Blondi- It all started back in 1967 when the musicians
Lennie Wright, Kenny Beveridge, Tom Harris, Tony Edwards and John Eaton
moved to London and started a band they gave a rather hopeless name:
John L. Watson and The Web. Watson was an American singer who had
joined the band. The year after, the band wisely changed their name to
just The Web, and recorded their first album called Fully
Interlocking. This is the follow-up Theraphosa
Blondi
and has some greatly listenable moments, showing a band deep into the
current of post-pop progressive rock music." Tapestry label,
limited edition of 1000 copies. 18.- FATHER
YOD
(YA HO WA 13)- Expansion- OOP Swordfish reissue, Starts
as Van Morrison on Acid like singing, with piano, organ, drums (by JJ
Light,
the Native American protégé of the West Coast Pop
Art Experimental Band's Bob
Markley). Odd and in moments stretched, with weird electric guitar
solos. Also,
quiet passages with Pink Floydesque mood (piano and organ,..). An
abnormality
for its first side, but beautiful unique psychedelic weirdness at side
2, with
flute, weird whistling, beautiful backing voice noises. And Father Yod
who goes
out of his mind again. Crazy electric guitar/piano accompanies the most
weird
moments. This side is very crazy, but still structured from within.

for its highlighting power. M-/M-;

FATHER
YOD
(YA HO WA 13)- Yodship- OOP Swordfish
reissue- Limited to 300 copies only, Infinity driven
hippie folk in memory of Yahowa, with its moments.
YA
HO WA 13-
I’m gonna take you home- OOP Swordfish
reissue, Originally a double LP.
YA HO WA 13- To the principles for the children- OOP Swordfish reissue, At the end of 1974 The Source sold their restaurant and moved to Hawaii. There they went looking for paradise only to encounter hostile locals who were reluctant to rent out a pad for Yahowa and his 13 wives, forcing them to temporarily retreat to Northern California. But they eventually reconfigured themselves and returned to Hawaii for a final fractious stand. "To the Principles, for the children" dates from this period and the tension shows. Its two long tracks are broken into untitled fragments, one of them an ode to "woman power" worthy of Helen Reddy. More frequently Yahowa locks into heaven chant mode, surrounded by instrumental rings that recall The Magic Band of "Abba Zabba". Very possibly, this album explains a great deal of the Father's philosophy-that is, if you can make out the words, of which there are many. By way of compensation the ensemble seamlessly blends effects and percussion, and when the kids'chorus of "Yahowa" starts up at the end you'll know you've already been somewhere. " M-/M-; 35.-
YA HO WHA-
Operetta-
"The
psychedelic find of the decade-their long-lost final magnum opus.
Rumoured to
exist for years-often put down as just rumour though. Here it is,
unearthed
from tapes thought lost forever but now found after nearly 30 years.
The first
thing to be released from Ya Ho Wha 13 since 1975. In the spring of
1975 the
Family was homeless and was travelling on the West Coast after having
been
driven out of Hawaii by local laws (they would return later that year
for what
would be the final time with Father). Ya Ho Wha had taken a spontaneous
journey
to the East which had culminated in his initiation in the Great Pyramid
of
Egypt on Easter Sunday. Upon his return to the San Francisco area a
warehouse
in Corte Madeira was rented for the Family to gather for their Aquarian
style
morning meditations and meetings to greet the dawn. This is where The
Operetta
came down. It represents the first musical channelling from the time
after Ya
Ho Wha's Easter Resurrection in the Great Pyramid (returning
transformed) and
the last total musical recording he would make with the band. The 6
pieces
which make up The Operetta form the culmination of all the YaHoWhan
recordings --
thunderous percussion, massive psychedelic guitar swirlings are all
vying for
space with Ya Ho Wha's spontaneous chanting in this intense journey
into inner
self. The final and most awesome of all their creations. A strictly
limited
edition 2 LP set presented in a gatefold cover featuring previously
unseen
photographs from the Family's personal archives, it comes with an
insert
featuring a transcription of Ya Ho Wha's thoughts and comments on the
piece
when he heard the tapes played back to him shortly after they were
recorded.
One off pressing -- this is destined to become as rare as the Higherkey
originals." 45.-
ZAKARRIAS-
The only album by the British band Zakarrias is
an
overlooked treasure of the early '70s UK rock scene. Almost no
information about the band's history is available, but their lone LP is
now considered one of the rarest releases of the period (along with
Mellow Candle's Swaddling Songs album.) Released in
1971, the
eponymous LP by Zakarrias presented their highly unusual blend of
psych, folk, hard rock and blues, which benefited from diverse
arrangements and clever, romantic lyrics. Zakarrias himself was an
exceptionally talented songwriter and arranger, also." Tapestry label,
