AIGUES
VIVES- Water of seasons- Privately pressed fantastic German
Acid-folk LP with lots of instruments, nice use of flute, guitars,
electric
violin, male/female vocals and lots of surprisingly refreshing
progressive
ideas as well, with unexpected killer fuzzed guitars! I think this has
been
compared to the legendary CAROL OF HARVEST but in my opinion
it’s clearly
better. Comes with the original insert. Cover is EX- with just the
usual edge
creases. Vinyl is also EX- with light superficial scuffs. Plays great!
As seen
in pokora vol 4001 with 2 stars. 125,-
DJAMEL ALLAM- Les reves du vent-
Good Arabic Folk prog from 1978 at "samarkande"; L'escargot ;
Gatefold cover is VG++, Vinyl looks unplayed M-; 30.-
ASTERIX-
Poligrafici, Pensionati, Trombai & Santi- Not a progressive
album as the cover (and label) might suggest. This came on the same
label as Antonius Rex’s “Zora” album. The
guy sings in a “chanson” style, ballading and often
naratting his text. Without wanting to hype the thing, i have to say
that some tracks are very nice with an obvious Leonard Cohen influence,
melodic passages and delicate acoustic guitar. There are some
interesting instrumental passages as well, but very much singing and
pretty much removed from any “rock” feel.
Cover is VG with heavy wear along the top side of the spine and the
corners, apart from this, no major defects. A faded signature in the
back. Vinyl is in nice EX. Original innersleeve included. 40.-
BAROCK-
Bare en blåveis- Obscure and excellent original 1976
Norwegian
Folk-psych gemm released on the Mercury label, with absolutely
excellent well-crafted tracks sometimes in the pastoral vein of Magna
Carta & Cressida, with strong voice, acoustic and electric
guitar,
electric violin, flutes, bass, drums. Second track has a distinct
Oriental feel, with solooing acoustic guitar moving into reverb guitar
and electric violin with an uptempo rythm and phased drums. Some dreamy
moods as well, again with lots of feeling and great melodies throughout
that give way to exquisite guitar and violin solos. Overall a very
interesting and little known album that never turns up anywhere! Both
cover and vinyl are EX-. There’s some minor edge wear on the
cover, a surface scrap on the backcover from a sticker removal, and
superficial scuffs on the Vinyl surface. The playing quality is good
though not for Mint freaks. There are very low ticks and clicks heard
only in very quiet parts or between tracks, othewise it’s
really
in great playing condition. You won’t see this anywhere!

JOHN
BASSETTE- Another alternative- Obscure Private US Folk with some Psych
touches.....A talented loner folkie who writes excellent lyrics and has
a unique delicate yet rich voice. This LP contains several excellent
tracks...'Winter Time Lady', 'It's Magic', 'The Third Door', the fun
'Week End Freak', 'You're No Star' plus a couple of nice giutar
instrumentals in 'Theme And Variation' & 'Amor De Mi Corazon'.
Comes in a unipak sleeve with a pocket inside and has a textured
card/flyer with a wonderful drawing of Bassette on it. He made several
albums, all very small pressings which are now very rare; Autographed
on the front-cover in his utterly endearing handwritting:-; EX/M- 50
JOHN BASSETTE- The Country album- The saga of the emerald city cowboy-
Really not a 'country' album at all.....a talented loner folkie who
writes excellent lyrics and has a unique delicate yet rich voice. On
this eclectic LP he covers folk rock 'You Don't Have To Worry',
'Fayreweather Friends', a great country rocker in 'Been Waiting On The
Man Too Long', the heavier 'Hard Lovin' Rock And Roll', a completely
different, new Latin influenced version of 'Amor De Mi Corazon' this
time with lyrics & folk in 'Michael'.....the album ends with
three
excellent inventive songs in 'Mega Love', the beautiful 'Golden Doves
And Dolphins' & 'Salute To The Eighties'. He made several
albums,
all very small pressings which are now very rare and sought after;

BEST OF FRIENDS (Joe and
Bing)- Daybreak- Best Of Friends was the East
Coast-based guitar duo of Bing Bingham and Joe Knowlton. For some
reason ROBERTO
QUARTIN (legendary bossa nova producer) decided to record/produce this
album,
with the help of EUMIR DEODATO. Musically a fantastic folk-rock gemm
with
acid-folk leads. This is the first ever release of what is better known
as the
highly sought-after “white album” by Joe and bing
(which is in fact a reissue
of this same elusive Brazilian pressing that started it all!) Fragile
cover has
some sparse creases and little edge wear, one sticker and one number
written in
the back. Apart from this pretty nice shape. Vinyl is super clean!

FAUSTO-
Por este rio acima- RARE PORTUGUESE Psych Folk with complex
multi-instrument and vocals arrangements. 2 LP in Gorgeous Gatefold
cover with 8 pages booklet attached in the inner gatefold. This is
NOTHING like Spanish folk. This is absolutely unique with a touch of
traditional Portuguese music and many other ethnic influences. There
are some very “felt” moments with delicate vocals
and a complex interplay of instruments. Simply a brilliant album from
beginning to end, and hard to locate in any condition. Original
“Triangulo” pressing with cat number TR 002 and
003. Both cover and LP’s are VG+; Gatefold cover has some
ringwear and some scratches in the back surface causing a couple of
marks. Therefore graded VG. Both vinyls have superficial scuffs and
scratches. The 4 sides play through well with just some crackling in
some places, but the first track of side D has a quick jump of the
needle. This is not a skip, just a quick jump, not too disturbing. So,
overall VG/VG which reflects the price (this LP is being listed for
180.- currently), so here you go, a nice playable addition for just
45.-
FLAIRCK- Variations on a lady- Mellow
psych folk from Holland with amazing Violin

FOLQUE-
Same- This is an original copy of the MEGA RARE debut by this mighty
Norwegian Electric folk band, which sounds at times like the TREES or
the very best of STEELEYE SPAN and FAIRPORT CONVENTION with gorgeous
female vocals backed by an array of rich and intelligent
instrumentation. 1974, Norway Philips 6317 025. The cover grades VG++
with some edge creases mainly. The vinyl is a nice EX with ultra
superficial scuffs and hairlines seen under strong light. The original
innersleeve is also included. An essential album that is slowly and
steadily getting a place of honour amongst the very best electric-folk
albums of all times; 170.-
FUNGUS-

LAMB and GYE WHIZ-
I’ll be allright- Here’s a perfect SEALED original
1st
press of one of the best and rarest acid-folk LP’s in the

gorgeous rural and fragile folk with hints of candida pax and a to
austr, and
this seductive homemade feel. Has been reissued years ago by Fanny, but
this is
the very first and only official pressing. MINT/MINT sealed. As seen in
Pokora
volume 3001 page 96 with 6 stars + the special masterpiece symbol. Holy
grail! Offers..
MIKAEL
LAMMGARD & GUNNEL DERNING- Oppen- Really hard to describe this
Swedish adventurous album. One guy and one girl, hippie new-age looking
with all lyrics in Swedish and a style that ranges from Acid-folk, New
age, Medieval folk and sometimes with cool funky touches. Really an
odball here! Cover is fine with just light ringwear. Vinyl has some
superficial marks (not really hairlines, more like scuffs) but plays
really nicely like EX. Comes with innersleeve. As seen in Pokora 5001
page 82 with 2 stars; 50.-
ROBIN
LENT- Scarecrow’s journey- Rare German pressing of this
excellent english psych folk album. Gatefold cover looks very nice with
just a bit of lamination peeling along the left edge (spine side). The
spine center seems to have been retouched in red ink and a line of
transparent tape applied for protection. Due to this i downgrade the
cover to VG+ although it does look very nice, more like EX. Vinyl,
(German pressing on Global 6306 908) is EX- with some superficial
hairlines. 100.-

JORGE
PALMA- Com Uma Viagem na Palma da Mão- 1975 unknown debut
album by this Portuguese artist, which was to me the discover of the
year! Absolutely fantastic psych/prog with acid-folk hints, delicate
piano, acoustic guitars, drums, electric guitar, sax & flute
and of course a great vocalist! This is a minuscule edition of only 300
copies and the first one i ever came across. The cover is just
stunning: A collage showing on the left side two fists crushing against
each other, one with The Russian colours and the other with the
American colours. On the right a half-naked being saying to himself:
“Is it really this way, or am i crazy?” Musically
this is positive discover, as Jorge palma, just like José
Cid, didn’t really follow an interesting musical path in the
80’s and beyond, as opposed to this work, which in my opinion
stands as high as “beautiful people” by Bill Quick,
though with a more mysterious and darker, more
“prog” side. It has the same elusive mystery around
it, but the music is layered with acid-folk leanings. A record that
literaly grows in you! Both laminated cover and vinyl are a gorgeous
and fantastic MINT-; This is a strong candidate for the next
Pokora book, most probably with 6 stars. M-/M-; 1500.-

Acid folk album out of Detroit. This was recorded in 1975 but only
released for
the first time in 1985 in this limited edition of 300 numbered copies,
signed
by John Sase; Musically this is introspective downer/Loner acid-folk
with a
great tapestry of intstruments including string Bass, Nylon string
guitar,
Indian Bells, Hand percussion, Nose-flute and harmonica. Comes in a
nice
home-made style silkscreen with pasted-on photograph, numbered 231 of

SERENITY-
Piece of mind- Monster Rare original 1972 New
Zealand pressing on the down under label from 1972; this is impossible
to find
and an absolute must have if you’re into the rural vibes with
a dreamy psychy
edge. Musically, this is a classic piece of acoustic
and electric progressive hippy folk rock that is reminiscent of Magna
Carta but
with a US West Coast feel. A superb dreamy blend of cool trippy, summer
folk
rock sounds with a pop edge. As an original this is near impossible to
find and
the cover being very flimsy (die-cut gimmix gatefold original) usually
has some
considerable wear to it: This one used to have some tape that was
removed at
some point, leaving a slight shadow along the edges. There is some
light edge
wear as well as a few spots and surface creases. Conservatively graded
VG++. The vinyl has mainly superficial scuffs and grades
conservatively VG++ to EX-; As seen with 5 stars in Pokora 2001 page

TUIG- Same- Mega Rare original Dutch
POLYDOR MEDIUM from 1970. A weird dutch Polit-rock folk combo with some
psych moves, some strong melodies (sometimes beatle-esque), with
affinity to Floh De Cologne and Contact (from Sweden). All sung in
Dutch and i hear the lyrics are quite freaky! Gatefold cover has some
lamination issues and some wear along the edges. Grades VG+. The vinyl
on the other hand has been barely played, with 1 or 2 ultra light
almost invisible scuffs, this looks almost as M-; GONE
